For larger projects and complete builds, we use a more involved process before the scope of work is finalized.
We only accept one dedicated build per month.

If the problem has already been confirmed, we can review the repair, put together the appropriate scope of work, and go from there.
This may be something found during a previous inspection, a known failed component, or a repair we have already discussed with you.
Not Sure Yet?
If you have a warning light, noise, leak, vibration, overheating concern, drivability problem, or another symptom without a confirmed cause, diagnosis may need to come first.
We’ll test the vehicle to find the source of the problem before recommending the repair.

How We Work With Stock & Modified WRXs and STIs
We service and repair both stock and modified WRXs and STIs. If your car is modified, what matters is how those modifications affect the work you’re bringing it in for.
Stock WRX or STI
We handle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across the vehicle, from routine service and normal wear items to clutches, engine work, transmission repairs, suspension, drivetrain, and larger mechanical repairs.
If you plan to keep the car stock, we can continue maintaining it and keeping an eye on what it needs as the miles add up.
Modified WRX or STI
Before we recommend repairs or make additional changes, we want to know what has already been done, what parts are on the car, how it’s currently set up, and whether there are any existing concerns we need to account for.
For a heavily modified car, a vehicle with an unknown build history, or one coming to us for additional performance work, we may recommend taking a more complete look at the vehicle and its current setup first.

Getting a Baseline on the Car
The more modified a WRX or STI is, the more important it becomes to understand the vehicle as a whole before making decisions about what comes next.
Our Performance & Modified Vehicle Assessment gives us a baseline of the car as it sits today. We look at its current modifications, overall mechanical condition, existing concerns, and the systems that may be affected by the work you’re considering.
We will want to preform an assessment if...
1. You recently bought an already modified car
Especially when there isn’t much documentation on what was done or who did the work.
2. The car is heavily modified
There may be several systems and aftermarket components that need to be considered together.
3. There are existing problems or concerns
Before adding more to the car, we want to know if there are mechanical issues that need to be dealt with first.

The current setup and condition of the vehicle help determine what makes sense to do next.

We only take on one complete WRX or STI build per month.
These projects take more than shop time. There’s planning before the car arrives, understanding what’s already been done, deciding what makes sense for the owner’s goals, coordinating parts and outside services when needed, and working through what we find once the car is here.
Limiting the number of builds we take on gives us the time to do that without trying to push several large projects through the shop at once.

Do you offer routine maintenance for WRXs and STIs?
Yes. We provide routine and mileage based maintenance for both stock and modified WRXs and STIs, including oil changes, spark plugs, fluid services, filters, inspections, and other maintenance your vehicle needs over time.
If your car is modified, we take its current setup into account when servicing it.
Do you repair WRXs and STIs?
Yes. We handle repairs across the vehicle, including engines, transmissions, clutches, drivetrain, brakes, steering and suspension, wheel bearings, cooling systems, electrical concerns, heating and A/C, exhaust, and more.
We work on both stock and modified WRXs and STIs.
Do you diagnose modified WRXs and STIs?
Yes. We diagnose concerns on modified vehicles, including check engine lights, misfires, drivability problems, leaks, noises, electrical concerns, and other mechanical issues.
The more modified the vehicle is, the more important its current setup and previous work become when we're trying to determine what is causing the problem.
Do you take on major repairs on modified WRXs and STIs?
Yes. We take on larger mechanical repairs including engine work, engine replacement, clutches, transmission and drivetrain work, and other major repairs on modified vehicles.
For heavily modified cars or vehicles with an unknown build history, we may need to go through the vehicle and its current setup more thoroughly before putting together the repair plan.
Do you install aftermarket and performance parts?
Yes, selectively. We install aftermarket and performance components as part of the work and projects we take on.
If you're planning changes to your car, we recommend talking with us before purchasing parts so we can look at what you're trying to accomplish and how those parts fit with the rest of the setup.
Do you offer complete WRX and STI builds?
Yes. We take on one dedicated complete build per month.
These are larger projects that go through our build process before work begins, starting with an inquiry and consultation, followed by reserving a build spot, planning, vehicle arrival and assessment, and finalizing the scope of the build.
Why do you only take one complete build per month?
We still operate a full Subaru repair shop while taking on larger performance projects. Complete builds require significantly more planning, coordination, shop time, and attention than a normal repair.
Limiting complete builds to one per month gives us the time and capacity to properly plan and complete the project without trying to move several large builds through the shop at once.
Do you tune WRXs and STIs?
We do not tune vehicles in house. When tuning is needed for work we're performing, we can coordinate that portion of the project with a tuner.
Can you work on a WRX or STI that was modified or built somewhere else?
Yes. The vehicle does not have to have been modified or built by us.
If it's heavily modified or there isn't much information available about the previous work, we may need to spend more time going through the car and understanding its current setup before recommending repairs or additional changes.
Can I bring my WRX or STI to you from out of state?
Yes. We regularly work with Subaru owners who travel to us, and larger projects can also be planned around getting the vehicle to our shop in Bismarck.
If you're considering a complete build, vehicle arrival and transportation are worked through during the planning process.
How do I get started with a build?
Start by contacting us and telling us about your WRX or STI, what's currently done to it, and what you're looking to accomplish.
If the project is something we may be a good fit for, we'll move into a build consultation. Once we've agreed to take on the project, a nonrefundable reservation deposit secures your build spot and we begin the planning and coordination before the vehicle arrives.
Your WRX or STI Can Change. Your Shop Doesn’t Have To.
You might bring your WRX or STI to us completely stock for its first oil change. You might already own a modified car that needs repairs, or you may have a much bigger plan for what you want the car to become.
That’s why we’ve built our approach to cover the vehicle through all of it. We can maintain it, diagnose problems when they come up, handle repairs as it ages, work with it as modifications are added, and take on select larger builds when that’s where you want to go.
