Subaru Care Plan

Keep your Subaru in tip-top shape all year long.

The Subaru Care Plan was designed to help you stay ahead of unexpected repairs, save on maintenance, and enjoy a more confident ownership experience.

Why We Created the Subaru Care Plan

The more consistently we see a Subaru, the better we get to know it.

We know what's already been done, what's coming up, and what we've been keeping an eye on. If something changes between visits, we have a history to look back on instead of starting from scratch.

That's a big part of why we created the Subaru Care Plan. It gives our customers an easy way to stay on top of their Subaru throughout the year, while giving us the chance to really know the vehicles we're taking care of.

Included Benefits:

Up to 3 Oil Changes Per Year with Complimentary Comprehensive Inspection

✔ Annual Subaru Health Review

✔ 1 hour of Annual Diagnostic Credit

✔ 10% Off Parts & Labor (Up to $300 Per Repair Order)

✔ Priority Scheduling

✔ Free Pre-Purchase & Pre-Sale Inspection

✔ Complete Digital Service History

✔ Transferable with Your Vehicle

Our Philosophy on Subaru Ownership

We believe Subaru ownership should be proactive, not reactive. Staying ahead of maintenance, building a service history, and catching small concerns early helps keep your Subaru more reliable and often reduces the cost of ownership over time.

Reactive Subaru Ownership

❌ Waiting until something breaks

❌ Unexpected repair bills

❌ Different shop every visit

❌ Limited service history

❌ Maintenance gets delayed

❌ More stress and uncertainty

With Proper Diagnosis

✅ Staying ahead of maintenance

✅ Catching concerns before they grow

✅ Working with the same Subaru specialists

✅ Building a complete service history

✅ Planning for future repairs

✅ Greater confidence behind the wheel

If we see your Subaru regularly, we’re not meeting the car for the first time every time it comes through the door.

We can look back and see that we noticed a small seep six months ago. We can see when the CVT fluid was last changed.

We know the brakes were getting close at the last inspection. We know which repairs have already been done and what maintenance is coming up.

Over time, we build a history with the car.

That’s what we want the Care Plan to give our customers.

A Lot of This Came From Tanner's Time in Aviation

Long before Dakota Subaru Experts, Tanner was buying Subarus that needed work, fixing them up, and selling them on the side, or working on Subaru's for people. At the time, the goal wasn't to build a Subaru business. He was using the money he made from the cars to pay for flight training.

Flying isn't cheap, especially when you're working through your certifications and building enough hours to make it a career. Fixing and selling Subarus helped Tanner pay his way through it. Eventually, he earned his private and commercial pilot license, CFI, CFII, MEI, built his flight time, and was getting ready to make the move to the airlines.

Then COVID happened. Airlines stopped hiring, and the career Tanner had spent years working toward suddenly wasn't an option. Tanner went in another direction and decided to give business a shot, something he'd always had a knack for.

Over the next five years, Tanner and his wife Mariah built businesses, tried different things, made plenty of mistakes, and learned a lot along the way. Somewhere in those years, business became more than the backup plan. They genuinely fell in love with building a company.

'

Eventually, that brought Tanner right back to something he'd known for years...

Subarus.

Aviation Came Back With Him

Tanner's time in aviation left a lasting impression on how he thought about maintenance. When he wasn't flying, he spent time in the maintenance shop working alongside A&P mechanics, turning wrenches on the airplanes and building experience toward earning his own Airframe & Powerplant certification.

He saw firsthand what happens when the same people take care of the same aircraft over time. Owners brought their airplanes back to the same shop, and eventually the mechanics knew those airplanes. They knew what had already been repaired, what had been inspected, what had caused trouble before, and what they needed to keep an eye on.

Everything was documented, too. Every airplane had a logbook with its maintenance, repairs, inspections, dates, and hours. When an airplane came back into the shop, there was a history to look through instead of starting from scratch every time. Tanner saw a lot of value in that and carried it with him long after he left professional aviation.

There's also a connection between Tanner's two worlds that we've always found pretty interesting. Subaru itself has roots in aviation, tracing back to an aircraft manufacturer, and Subaru remains involved in aerospace today. Horizontally opposed engines, the same basic engine layout Subaru is known for, also have a long history in aviation.

In a funny way, Subarus and airplanes were never quite as separate as they seemed.

Bringing That Experience Back to Subarus

A lot of that thinking has found its way into Dakota Subaru Experts.

When the same Subaru comes back to the shop consistently, the team gets to know that particular car. They can look back and see the small leak that was noted six months ago, when the CVT fluid was changed, what has already been repaired, and what was worth keeping an eye on for the future.

As the years go by, there's a history with the vehicle. That's a big part of what Tanner and Mariah wanted the Subaru Care Plan to create: the opportunity to take care of the same Subarus over time and know the vehicles their customers trust them with.

And one piece of Tanner's aviation experience is now coming directly to Care Plan members.

Your Subaru Gets a Logbook Too!

We’re adding something to the Care Plan that came directly from Tanner’s aviation background: a physical maintenance logbook for your Subaru.

Every Care Plan member will get one for their vehicle.

As we service the car, it becomes a running record of its history...

✓ Date and mileage
✓ Maintenance performed
✓ Repairs completed
✓ Inspection history
✓ Things we’re keeping an eye on
✓ Upcoming maintenance

We’ll still keep our complete service records on our end, but you’ll have a physical history that stays with the car.

Keep it in the glovebox.

Bring it with you when you come in. Then, years from now, if you sell the Subaru, hand it to the next owner they’ll be able to see how the car was taken care of.

Built Around Long-Term Subaru Ownership

Taking care of your Subaru consistently is one of the best ways to reduce the overall cost of ownership. Routine maintenance, regular inspections, and catching concerns early often cost far less than waiting until a larger repair is needed.

The Subaru Care Plan was built to make staying on top of your Subaru easier. Instead of paying for each service individually, your membership includes many of the services Subaru owners use throughout the year, along with exclusive savings on future repairs.

Beyond the included benefits, working with the same Subaru specialists helps us understand your vehicle's history, make better recommendations, and help you plan for future maintenance. The result is a simpler ownership experience, fewer surprises, and a team that's invested in keeping your Subaru on the road for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Subaru Care Plan work?

The Subaru Care Plan is an annual membership designed to help you maintain your Subaru throughout the year. Once you join, you'll have access to exclusive benefits including routine maintenance, diagnostic credit, repair savings, priority scheduling, and more. Your membership renews annually, so you can continue enjoying those benefits year after year.

What is included in the Subaru Care Plan?

Your Care Plan includes:

- Up to 3 oil changes per membership year

- Complimentary comprehensive inspection with every oil change

- Annual Subaru Health Review

- One hour diagnostic credit each year

- 10% off qualifying parts and labor (up to $300 savings per repair order)

- Priority scheduling

Diagnostic benefit is limited to one diagnostic appointment of up to one hour per membership year. Any unused time does not carry over or remain available for a future appointment. Additional diagnostic time, if needed, is billed separately with your approval.

How do the oil changes work?

Your Care Plan includes up to three oil changes during each membership year. Every oil change also includes a complimentary comprehensive vehicle inspection to help monitor your Subaru's overall condition. Because every driver is different, some owners may only need one or two oil changes each year, while others may need more. Additional oil changes outside of your included three are always available at our standard rates.

What is the Annual Subaru Health Review?

The Annual Subaru Health Review is a more in-depth evaluation of your Subaru's overall health. In addition to reviewing your vehicle's service history and upcoming maintenance, we'll connect our Subaru diagnostic equipment to scan for stored and pending fault codes, review important system data, and identify concerns that may not be visible during a routine inspection.

While the comprehensive inspection included with every oil change focuses on your vehicle's current condition, the Annual Subaru Health Review provides a broader look at your Subaru's overall health and helps you plan for future maintenance and repairs. Most members complete this during their first visit of each membership year, but it can also be scheduled separately if needed.

How does the diagnostic credit work?

Each Care Plan includes one annual diagnostic credit of up to one hour. If your check engine light comes on or you're experiencing a concern with your Subaru, we'll use that credit toward diagnosing the issue. Once we've identified the cause, we'll provide you with a detailed estimate and discuss any recommended repairs before moving forward.

Diagnostic benefit is limited to one diagnostic appointment of up to one hour per membership year. Any unused time does not carry over or remain available for a future appointment. Additional diagnostic time, if needed, is billed separately with your approval.

How does the 10% repair discount work?

Care Plan customers receive 10% off qualifying parts and labor, with savings capped at $300 per repair order. The discount does not apply to batteries, sublet services, customer-supplied parts, or other promotional offers.

Is the Care Plan tied to me or my Subaru?

The Care Plan is tied to one specific Subaru so we can build and maintain a complete service history for that vehicle. If you sell your Subaru before your membership expires, the remaining benefits can be transferred to the new owner. If you replace your Subaru with another Subaru before your Care Plan expires, we'll apply a prorated credit toward a new Care Plan for your replacement vehicle.

Can I use the Care Plan on more than one Subaru?

No. Each Subaru requires its own Care Plan because every vehicle has its own maintenance history, inspection records, and repair needs. If your household owns multiple Subarus, each vehicle can be enrolled separately to receive its own benefits.

Does my Care Plan renew automatically?

Care Plans purchased with a credit or debit card automatically renew each year unless canceled before the renewal date. We'll send you a reminder approximately 30 days before your renewal so there are no surprises. If you originally purchased your Care Plan with cash or check, we'll contact you when it's time to renew.

Can I cancel or receive a refund?

You may cancel your automatic renewal at any time before your next renewal date. Once a Care Plan has been purchased, membership fees are non-refundable. If you sell your Subaru during your membership year, your remaining benefits can be transferred to the new owner of that vehicle.

How does priority scheduling work?

Care Plan customers receive priority scheduling whenever possible. While we can't guarantee same-day service, we'll do our best to get your Subaru into the shop as quickly as our schedule allows.

Are the pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections really free?

Yes. Care Plan customers receive complimentary pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections for Subaru vehicles. Whether you're buying another Subaru or preparing to sell your current one, we'll help you better understand the vehicle's overall condition so you can make a more informed decision.

How do I get started?

Joining is easy. You can enroll online through our website or ask a member of our team during your next visit. Once you're enrolled, you'll have immediate access to your Care Plan benefits and can begin taking advantage of them throughout the year.

When do my benefits reset?

Your Subaru Care Plan benefits reset each year on your membership renewal date. Unused benefits, including oil changes and diagnostic credit, do not roll over into the next membership year.
